What We Believe/Statement of Faith

.) We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that it was written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit to write what He wanted written and in the manner in which He wanted it to be recorded, and that it is therefore of supreme authority in faith and life.

.) We believe in one God, Creator of heaven and earth, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

.) We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, and therefore true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

.) We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, whose ministry is to convict the world of sin, or righteousness, and of judgment, and to regenerate the unbelieving, and to sanctify and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ.

.) We believe that man was created in the image of God, and that by reason of his sin he fell from his high and holy state; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.  When an individual reaches an age of spiritual accountability before God, he then becomes a sinner in thought, word and deed.

.) We believe that Christ died for our sins, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood and are born again by His Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God, that salvation is by grace through faith, and not of works lest any man should boast.

.) We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present ministry there for us as High Priest and Advocate; we believe in “that blessed hope,” the personal, bodily, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

.) We believe in the observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper: that Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water as the outward expression of an inward experience of salvation and union with Christ, setting forth in symbol the essential facts of redemption; and that the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death until He comes, wherein the elements are the bread and the cup.

.) We believe that the New Testament Church is a body of believers associated together for worship and service in the spread of the Gospel throughout the world; and that every person is directly responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; and that each church is independent and autonomous and therefore must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority.

.) We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.

.) We believe that the grand and glorious mission of the Church is the evangelization of the world, beginning at home; and that this mission merits the complete consecration of the time, talent and treasure of every Christian.
